passed the 2,000 mile mark!!

Dougal went through the snow-lined road in Lassen Park yesterday. There was snow, but it wasn't cold. He said it was very pretty and had amazing views. Today he passed the 2,000 mile mark!! Not sure by how much. He may be able to tell me later, but the mobile reception is rubbish, so news is only getting through slowly. He had his sixth tire puncture. Then he was whizzing along and heard a little "pop" and wondered what it was. Glancing behind him, he spotted something on the road and went back to have a look. A part of his aero bars was laying there! So, his aero bar had broken. The aero bars are the things attached to the front top of the handlebars that allows him to put him arms down and flat, for a more aerodynamic stance and to switch arm position for comfort. Anyway, broken. So that stinks. He's going to go to some hardware store and see if he can fix it with a bit of wire. Tomorrow he will get to Truckee or further near the Lake Tahoe area.
